  • Yes. If your private health insurance policy includes physiotherapy cover, you can use your extras benefits for physiotherapy appointments at Swell Physio & Pilates.

We offer on-the-spot claiming through HICAPS, allowing you to claim your eligible rebate immediately and only pay the gap amount at the time of your appointment.

If you're unsure about your level of cover or rebate amount, we recommend contacting your health fund directly before your appointment. Our team is also happy to answer any questions you may have about claiming through private health insurance.

  • Physiotherapy is not typically covered by Medicare for routine appointments. However, some patients may be eligible for a Medicare rebate through a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangements (formerly known as a Chronic Disease Management Plan).

If you have a chronic medical condition and your GP believes physiotherapy would be beneficial, they may refer you for a limited number of allied health visits each calendar year that attract a Medicare rebate.

If you have been referred under a GP Management Plan, please let our team know when booking your appointment and bring your referral paperwork with you.

  • Your initial physiotherapy appointment is designed to help us understand your concerns, identify the cause of your symptoms, and develop a personalised treatment plan.

We encourage you to wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement. If you're attending for a specific injury, clothing that allows access to the affected area may be helpful.

Our goal is to ensure you leave your first appointment with a clear understanding of your condition and a plan to help you return to the activities that are important to you.

  • Both Studio Rehab and Circuit Classes are physiotherapist-led and tailored to your individual needs, goals, and injury history.

Studio Rehab sessions are capped at 4 participants and offer a more rehabilitation-focused environment with closer supervision and support.

Circuit Classes are capped at 6 participants and involve moving through a series of exercise stations while following your own personalised program.
